Skin care routine for men? This is the basic and simple way out.

For a lot of men, the idea of skin care has barely entered their vocabulary let alone the bathroom cabinets. Because to be honest, the thought of skin care can be very daunting and stressful.

This is why a lot of guys don’t have any routine to speak of – Either because they don’t want to put in the effort or they simply don’t care. Here’s the kick: If you are looking to level up in your face to face interactions; your presentation will go a long way. If it’s trying to feel good or, maybe trying to close a new business deal, or in your dating life; you need skin care.

Effective skin care is more than just washing or cleaning your face with whatever soap you can find lying around. It involves commitment, consistency, and not to mention; a great deal of experimentation, for you to find the right product that works for you.

No matter where your “experimentation” takes you, these are the basic “hypothesis” in skin care.

1. Cleansing

A fundamental part of any skin care routine is face cleansing. This is simply washing off the dirt and oil that might have settled into the pores of your skin or the surface of your face. Cleansing your face twice daily will prevent clogged pores breakouts and give radiant shine to your skin.

2. Exfoliating

Exfoliating comes right after cleansing the skin – It involves clearing the dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. This helps give the skin a bright and shiny look. In the long run, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles.

For most people, exfoliating two to three times per week is normal and ideal. But if you have oily skin, it is advisable to exfoliate more frequently. Knowing your skin type is very important.

3. Moisturizing

Moisturizing the skin helps it from feeling dry, by locking in moisture that will keep it looking good for years to come. Moisturizing restores hydration to the skin as well as moisture that might have been lost during cleansing and exfoliating. It also helps and serves as a protective barrier to prevent dirt from getting to the pores of the skin – that would later lead to outbreaks.

The type and quantity of moisturizer to be used on the skin largely depends on your skin type. If you have a more oily skin; applying too much moisturizer is not advised. This is because it exacerbates oiliness and outbreaks. And if you have dry skin, a more generous amount should be applied to make the skin feel very hydrated to the touch.

Real talk – skin care might seem like a lot and maybe unimportant, but we guarantee a few weeks in, you can already see the difference. Take care of your skin Temphans!
